weserholz - design studio and social enterprise
Moin & Salaam
Bremen, district Steffensweg, here is the studio of weserholz located, which we visited in July.
The warm welcome from Tanja, Paula, Samba and Anselm was pleasant and the invitation to have lunch with the team was a spontaneous and delicious surprise.
weserholz is a special design studio and the 13-strong team from currently 8 countries is working processually on furniture designs & interiors and is also shaping future perspectives. Man as a designer is at the centre of the brand. A part of the team - young adults, who live without safe stay in Bremen - uses weserholz as bridge into professional education.
The workshop and the design spaces are larger than you might think at first glance. Here, between a well-maintained machine and tool park, many of which come from donations, design contracts are carried out that fit the special demands and approach and working methods of weserholz.
One of the projects gave rise to the workshop furniture series kekendo, when Prof. Dr. Sven Hermann from DIGILAB Brennerei 4.0 in Bremen wanted to collaborate with weserholz.
kekendo means by the way "never give up" on Mandinka.
Who wants to know more about the cooperation of the team, the naming and the backgrounds is recommended to read the weserholz Bulletin No.1 on the subject of cooperation.
We have been accompanied by the Fonko brackets since the meeting as a useful accessory and a reminder never to give up.
We are looking forward to the cooperation with weserholz.
A lot of new things can be expected from the team besides the previous furniture.
